My Faith
As a Christian, I'm also involved in the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples The church recently rebuilt its Web site and it's a great site. Some folks did some good, hard work. Give it a visit. It'll give you a pretty good idea of what's going on in my church home. They've got a lot of helpful people down there, so contact them if you want more information. They won't mind at all.
Before moving to Naples, I served as a Deacon, on the adult education, local missions and world missions committees. A couple years back I labored as layout coordinator for ut Champaign church's pictoral directory. (Why do you suppose they picked me?) I also worked with a very fine group of people on writing the church's history. The book came out in November. It's great. Shoulda been a NYT best seller. I also work at the Winter Shelter Annex in the church basement all winter and usually go on the church's annual Mission Possible adult mission trip. This year we went to Hinton, WVA. I hope to become as involved with or new church home in Naples.
I invite cybersurfers to check out our church's home page, Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, as well as The Presbytrian Church (USA), our denomination's world-wide Web site
If you're up for a little reading, I recommend A Brief Statement of Faith.
The Presbyterian Church (USA) web site also includes a series of daily readings that are both informative and inspirational. It's also a way to learn about and/or expand your faith. Give 'em a try. It's a good way to start (or end) your day.
If you want to talk about what it means to be a Christian, give me a shout. We can talk.
